Stephen Levin, MD
'FATHER' OF BIOTENSEGRITY
Stephen Levin, MD'FATHER' OF BIOTENSEGRITY
Stephen M. Levin, MD introduced and established the term “biotensegrity” as a science. Biotensegrity posits that Kenneth Snelson’s and Buckminster Fuller’s architectural concept of "floating compression" or "tensegrity" applies to living systems from sub-cellular to whole-organism scale levels, and explains how biological structures develop by responding advantageously to physical forces.
Kelly ClancySTRUCTURAL INTEGRATOR
Through body awareness techniques, education on self-care, nutrition, movement, and exercise, Kelly focuses on the multifaceted, multilayered components that lead to greater health and wellness.
Kelly uses her skills as a manual therapist and Occupational Therapist to address the postural components that can contribute to pain and dysfunction. Along with treating the structural issues that may be present, Kelly also brings awareness to emotional and perceptual factors, and their impact on the body’s regulatory systems.
Niall Galloway, MD
Niall Galloway, MDMEDICAL DIRECTOR
Dr. Niall Galloway is Associate Professor of Urology and Medical Director of the Emory Continence Center at the Emory Clinic in Atlanta. He joined the Emory University School of Medicine faculty in 1989 with research interests in developmental biology, clinical anatomy, and neuroscience.
Jean Claude Guimberteau, MD
Jean Claude Guimberteau, MDPLASTIC SURGEON
DR. JEAN CLAUDE GUIMBERTEAU is a plastic surgeon specializing in reconstructive general surgery, hand, and microsurgery.
A pioneer in endoscopy exploration of the tissue organization of the human body, he is also director and producer of many videos on living matter. He has developed a new concept on living tissues and proposed a new ontology for human interior architectures.

John Sharkey, MSc
John Sharkey, MScBIOTENSEGRITY PIONEER
John Sharkey MSc is a world renowned Clinical Anatomist with over 35 years experience. His areas of expertise include Exercise Physiology, Medical Exercise, movement and manual therapeutic application of biotensegrity.
John is a member of the British Association of Clinical Anatomists (BACA), a full member of the Anatomical Society (AS), an accredited Exercise Physiologist (BASES) and a founding member of the Biotensegrity Interest Group (B.I.G).
Joanne AvisonAPPLIED BIOTENSEGRITY
Joanne is a teacher of applied structural anatomy for movement and manual practitioners.
As a Member of the BioTensegrity Interest Group (B.I.G.), Joanne is fascinated by the application of BioTensegrity principles to the understanding of the human blueprint and natural biomotional organisation. Her writing and workshops are devoted to making this emerging context for human movement applicable and clearly understood.
GRAHAM SCARR is a chartered biologist and an osteopath with a particular interest in structural mechanics. Fascinated by the numerous examples of geometric patterns and shapes in nature, he has been researching their significance over many years.
He is part of a specific interest group looking at the significance of the biotensegrity concept to biomechanics and clinical practice. Working closely with Dr. Stephen Levin he has developed new models that progress our understanding of the structure-function relationship in biology.

Jo PheeConference Organiser
Jo Phee is a senior Teacher Trainer for Yin Yoga teachers around the world. She is the primary assistant to Yin Yoga founder Paul Grilley, and a long time student and registrar for Sarah Powers trainings in Asia.
Jo is the first generation of Yin Yoga teachers trained by Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers since 2006. With 4000 hours of apprenticeship with both of them, Jo has been mentored by Paul to teach his entire teacher training curriculum. Having 20 years of yoga experience, Jo was one of the first teacher to introduce Yin Yoga in Asia and has taught 10,000 public Yin classes and 70 Yin Yoga Teacher Trainings around the world.
Brought up solely with TCM from childhood by her Chinese Taoist parents, all of Jo’s initial education on TCM was based on practical knowledge passed down from generations in her Chinese family. She was taught Guasha by her grandparents and Chinese Herbs by her mother. To add theoretical basis to her personal experience, Jo went on to study at the Singapore College of TCM and the Academy of TCM.
Jo graduated from the Bihar School of Yoga where she took rigorous examination to teach the original Yoga Nidra practice developed by Swami Satyananda of the Bihar School. Her formal education in this practice and knowledge of the Chinese Meridian system inspired her to develop a systematic and detailed outline of a new practice - Meridian Nidra. Jo was the first Yin Yoga teacher to incorporate a comprehensive TCM module, "Guasha", Acupressure and Myofascial Release into Yin Yoga teacher training programs worldwide. She is the creator of Meridian Nidra, AcuYin and MyoYin.
Driven by a profound interest in functional anatomy and fascia, Jo has attended numerous human cadaver dissection labs in the United States and Europe. She has 500 hours of dissection lab experience and has studied up to 40 cadaver specimens to-date, including a dedicated neuroanatomical dissection of the brain and spinal cord. Jo studied Anatomy and Kinesiology at Marquette University in Wisconsin and Myofascial Release at the John Barnes MFR Institute. She has attended fascia school at Ulm University Germany and the Anatomical Institute of Leipzig University. She is a founding member of the Fascia Research Society and a team member of the Fascial Net Plastination Project. She is involved with the team to create the world’s first 3D Plastinated Human Fascial Network at the headquarters of the renowned Bodyworld Exhibition in Guben, Germany.
Jo’s teachings are a blend of the science of Western Anatomy fused with Eastern Practices and Philosophy. She resides in Singapore but spends 90% of the year traveling the world delivering Yin Yoga Teacher Training programs. All of her trainings are endorsed by Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers Insight Yoga Institute.

My life has always revolved around people. No matter what industry, it was not the product that inspired me but the people I came into contact with. When arriving in the US, I found myself in a unique situation where I could fill my days with whatever passion I chose and I gravitated toward health and fitness. It was a life changing and wondrous adventure. I hope to share this journey with those that I come into contact and aspire to make a difference to their present and future living.
I have been working in the health and fitness industry since 1997. Yet, I have been involved in sport and fitness since the age of 7. I have found my strengths lie in water and land group fitness teaching but could not ignore the calling to become a personal trainer. I strive to continue learning, developing and growing in all areas of mind, body and spirit. I began Pilates Mat fifteen years ago and have loved what it has done for my health and well being. Now I am teaching multiple disciplines and love to share the joy this works bring.
I find myself loving every type of group fitness class imaginable also swimming, boogie boarding, golf and tennis. I love anything Italian, traveling, cooking, family and friends. But, my true joy in life is to search out and find anyone willing to have a chat.
